Heart Diseases

When you think of heart diseases, you might think of disorders such as heart attacks or heart failure first. That certainly makes sense, since these heart ailments are in the news regularly.

More of us are aware that heart disease in women is a health issue that needs to be taken seriously, but you may be surprised to learn that young people need to be protected from adolescent heart disease.

Another type of coronary issue involves congenital heart defects, such as a mitral valve prolapse. The heart muscle, its valves, and the protective sac surrounding it are all at risk for becoming infected. When Endocarditis, Myocarditis, or Pericarditis occur, they need prompt medical treatment. The heart muscle can also become inflamed, as in the case of Cardiomyopathy.

Other heart diseases that warrant a trip to the closest medical facility include Angina, Cardiac Arrythmias, and a suspected Aortic Aneurysm. Cardiogenic shock is a medical emergency that needs immediate attention to give the patient a chance of survival.

No matter who you are, you need to be aware of the risk factors for Atherosclerosis Disease and Coronary Artery Disease. If you experience the signs of a stroke, you need to get to the closest hospital for treatment.
