Does your perfect day include sleeping in? To many of us who are just a little bit sleep deprived because of our busy schedules, it may seem like a great idea to spend lots of time catching some zzz’s. Studies have found that we should try to get about 7.5 hours of sleep every night.
If you are sleeping a lot more than that, it may be an indication that you are not leading a very active lifestyle. Too much sleep means you have less time to exercise and do other things to keep your heart healthy. A better strategy is to set your alarm, get up, and spend time doing something that will increase your heart rate. Going for a walk, joining an exercise class, or spending time in your garden are all good choices.
